The project of the WPU Erayim ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ has been implemented in the village districts of Osh and Jalal-Abad provinces since 2014. In this project, the main focus is given to strengthening the friendship and harmony of the peoples in the villages, increasing the social activity of the villagers, initiatives to improve the living standards of the villagers, and working in groups. For this purpose, self-help groups have been formed in the project area and there are more than thirty self-help groups are operating in two regions.

An English club continued its work since early 2017 in secondary schools №16 named after Abu Ali ibn Sina in Shark village, school №86 named after Kurmanzhan Datka in Mady village and school №117 named after K. Matkarimov in the village of Kyzyl-Kyshtak of Kara-Suu region in Osh province within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ project, funded by German organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt).

The members of the SHG’s of Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak village districts organized by WPU Erayim have participated an eleven day training course called ‘Milk Processing and Large Cattle Veterinary Medicine’ organized by the public organization ‘Danida’ and received certificates. In this training, the participants received new theoretical and practical knowledge on the technologies for preparing dairy products, such as: cheese, feta cheese, yoghurt, kurut, condensed milk, sour cream, ayran, kefir and fermented baked milk. Currently, the members of self-help groups ‘Tatyana’, ‘Oomat’, ‘Zhakshylyk’ and ‘Yrysky’ have set a goal to create joint small businesses. Members of self-help groups have teamed up to produce dairy products and sell them in markets to gain profit and to resolve their needs..
