Native Language Day was Celebrated

Festive events were conducted commemorating the ‘Native language’ day in secondary schools №16 named after Abu Ali ibn Sina, № 86 named after Kurmanzhan Datka, and № 117 named after K. Matkerimov of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak village districts of Kara-Suu district in Osh Province.

The education department for the Kara-Suu region of Osh Province has approved a plan for various events throughout 2017, which was declared as the Year of Morality, Education and Culture, in order to pay more attention to the moral and cultural education of children and the prevention of crimes such as school racketeering and suicide.

In Kyrgyzstan, there are a number of issues related to the education of preschool children. Almost all Soviet-era child care centers have been privatized, destroyed or are in poor condition. These centers once housed hundreds of children. That ownership of the buildings previously housing kindergartens passed into the hands of the authorities of the time is no secret, but some among them were later transferred back into state ownership. These buildings have been well maintained and provide better care for their children than they did in the Soviet period.

President Almazbek Atambayev has declared the year 2017 to be the ‘year of morality, education and culture’. Various educational, cultural, social institutions and non-governmental organizations are therefore carrying out activities in a wide range of spheres. A work plan has been developed for the year and different activities dedicated to the ‘year of morality, education and culture have started to take place.

Members of WPU Erayim’s children’s self-help group (CSHG) at Abu Ali Ibn Sina №16 School conducted an event called ‘The members of the CSHG will build a new school’ in Shark (Kara-Suu rayon of Osh Oblast). The event was arranged as the current school is very old and the students want to study in a new, modern school.
