The SHG Association ‘At-Bashy’ of the At-Bashy district of the Naryn oblast, together with the local authorities, starting from 2015 each year holds the Shyrdak festival at the republican level. The purpose of the festival is to praise the Kyrgyz national shyrdaks (felt carpets prepared using a special technology), their distribution and selling. Many foreign tourists participate in this festival and buy shyrdaks made by SHG members. It can be considered a great success that they receive orders from foreign customers and fulfill orders on time.

Within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, supported by Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt), technical trainings were held from 15 to 25 November 2018 on the component ‘To Build Capacities of SHGs Members’ in Mady, Kyzyl-Kyshtak, Shark rural districts of Kara-Suu district in Osh Oblast.

In the rural district of Shark, the SHG Association ‘Shark’ consisting of SHGs Ak Niet, Ak Zhol and Navbokhar in cooperation with the Rural District Authority and the City Road Administration advanced the issue of asphalting S.Sharipov, Kosh-Tash, and A. Parpiev streets. Also, road signs and pedestrian crossings were installed on the streets.
