Technical support program for opening a small business
WPU Erayim is pleased to announce that technical support for opening a small business is available as specified below through the opportunity offered in the frame of the project “Taking Our Lives into Our Hands”, funded by ELCA.
Background
The project goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation by supporting women's entrepreneurship development and promoting gender equality) in rural areas of the Kyrgyz Republic. The project specifically aims to establish sustainable structures that strengthen the role and capacities of women in rural areas to become a driving power of local development.
Among the training course conducted in the frame of the project “Taking Our Lives into Our Hands”, entrepreneurship training courses on business development and entrepreneurial skills for members of Self-Help-Groups will be conducted in each of the four regions targeted by the project activities. These courses will touch upon general business development and creating a business plan to prepare the participants to develop a business plan with the optional submission to the small grant competition.
Details of the technical support
VALUE | The technical support will be provided in a non-cash form, as a purchase of equipment and/or materials in the amount of up to the equivalent of 1 300 USD in Kyrgyz Som, that is up to 113 646 KGS each (conversion rate 1 USD=87,42 KGS). It will be provided to 4 selected groups selected in the course of the competition. |
ELIGIBILITY |
Self-Help Groups (up to 12 women members in each SHG) from the following territories:
of whom at least one member participated in the business training conducted in the frame of the project. Self-Help- Groups of women, independent of their marital, social status, religious, and ethnic background, who are currently seeking to (re-) -enter the labor market, are especially encouraged to apply. |
FORM OF SUPPORT | The technical support will be available in a non-cash form, made available to purchase needed equipment, supplies, or/and materials only. The applicant is obliged to provide a specific offer for the equipment, supplies, or/and materials from a provider, who is registered in the tax office and in the governmental register, has INN, OCOO, and IP. |
NUMBER OF GRANTEES | One technical support per location will be available, assuming that the quality of the application will be met. Should that not be given, the second round will be open and the applicants will be encouraged to re-submit their application after corrections. |
CO-FINANCING REQUIRED | The applicants are required to co-fund the project in the amount of at least 30% of the total amount indicated in the budget/ business plan. This co-financing must be available already at the stage of submitting the application for technical support. |
CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE GRANTEES | The applicant will sign the agreement with WPU Erayim, in which the framework of the cooperation will be outlined. The business should go operational no later than 3 months after receiving the technical support. Should the business not go operational within the agreed period, the technical grant needs to be returned in full within a week. The granted technical assistance must not be passed on to third parties at any time; must not be offered for sale and must not be divided into parts within the period of 10 years. Also, the grantee will be obliged to provide marketing materials (photo, video, and small text reports) on a regular basis over the course of 2 years (bi-annually) at the least. |
