The main problem of our time is that rangelands are being depleted due to the negative impact of natural phenomena or the increase in the number of private livestock.

Rural people who earn their living from livestock farming are concerned about this situation. To solve the problem, local and international organizations initiate different projects. One such organization is the WPU Erayim. Covering the whole territory of Kyrgyzstan, this organization, which has implemented dozens of projects and makes a great contribution to solving social problems of rural residents, has launched a new project "Taking Our Lives into Our Hands". The project will be implemented in the rural district of Beshik-Jon in Bazar-Korgon district with the support of the American international organization ELCA. Despite the fact that the project will last for a year and a half, the residents of the area will have an opportunity to address many issues. Within the framework of the project, a training course on "Actions at the local level to prevent the process of desertification" was organized. The training was conducted by an experienced agronomist-trainer Toichu Mamatov and attended by members of self-help groups "Yntymak", "Yntymak-1", "Perishte-1", "Ak-Kanat" in Zhon village of Beshik-Zhon rural district of Bazar-Korgon rayon. The training participants received information about soil and its types, and soil conservation. It was also noted that eroded soil is the cause of various animal diseases.
