Within the framework of the development of the regions, the contest-festival ‘Traditional Folk Songs’ was organized by the Osh city Department of Culture among the residents of Osh province, which was held on March 19, 2018 in the children's creative center Kelechek in Osh city.

Heads of the clubs of the WPU Erayim’s ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ project, financed by the international German organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt), Gulasal Aliyeva, Ayturgan Abdurakhmanova, Stalbek Mamatkulov and the members of the Ethno-Ensemble club who are also the members of the CSHGs participated in this contest-festival. They performed the folk song of the Kyrgyz people of the VI-VII century ‘Dardi ottu’ at a high level, in connection with which at the end of the competition they received a diploma from the Osh city Department of Culture. This is of course the result of tremendous effort and victory of the Ethno-Ensemble club.

The participants of the competition performed this folk song on March 20th at a festive event organized in the school №86 named after Kurmanzhan Datka of the Mady village district in honor of the celebration of Nooruz, where they were awarded with praise of schoolteachers, students and parents. Each member of the group received Honorary Diplomas from WPU Erayim.

The main purpose of this cultural event was to praise traditional folk songs that were an integral part of the nomadic culture, reflecting the very culture of nomads, their outlook on life, folk and aesthetic ideas, and which are a folk heritage passed verbally from mouth to mouth to the present day.
