On September 10, an exhibition fair on the development of entrepreneurship and small business among SHGs was organized within the framework of Women Public Union Erayim project “The Introduction of a Combination of Modern and Traditional Approaches to Prevent the Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan” funded by the German international organization Bread for the World.

The exhibition showcased small business achievements supported by the Australian Government's Direct Aid Program (DAP) and successfully implemented under the project ‘Women Empowerment in Rural Areas of Kyrgyzstan’. The SHG, the ASHG and newly formed SHG in Toloiken and Saray municipalities attended the fair.

As a reminder, within the framework of the Australian Government Direct Aid Program, in Kara-Suu district, three self-help groups were allocated a grant in the amount of 450 thousand soms for the development of their small businesses. The main goal of the project was to ensure local economic development by supporting women's entrepreneurship. Thanks to the project, "Beekeeping" and "Confectionery shop" business projects were successfully launched in Mady

and Ishkavan villages, and a greenhouse was opened in the village of Shark. This increased the cohesion and activity of SHG members. Feruza Yakubova, an active resident of Kara-Suu district, noted that a great deal of work had been done under the projects. The attitude of people changed. They became active and initiative in solving local social and other issues.

Zhazgul Kozhoeva, a member of Kerme-Too ASHG, added that the main goal of the event was to contribute to improving the living standards of the rural population and to promote local economic development through the creation and development of small businesses.
