Bazarkulova Nuryida, a member of the Association of SHG Ak-Tilek, created in the village of Bazar-Korgon, Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad oblast, held a three-day seminar for professional SHG members within the framework of the project "Conservation of biodiversity and reduction of poverty with the involvement of local communities in the management of walnut forests and pastures in the south of Kyrgyzstan”.

The project was implemented by the German international organization in the building of the secondary school-innovative gymnasium №30 named after O. Atabekova on topical environmental issues in the region. During the workshop, professional SHG members talked about the conservation of forest biodiversity in Kyrgyzstan, sustainable pasture management, waste management and recycling, mitigation and other issues. During the training, members of professional SHGs emphasized the relevance of this issue. They said that they would pass on the knowledge gained at the seminar to their students, fellow villagers, friends and acquaintances. They will not only share their knowledge with the school community where they work, but they will also organize garbage collection, plant trees and move from quantity to quality in pet care. In addition, professional SHG members stated that they will not only wait for school principals or other sponsors but will also do their best not to litter, clean up, plant trees, rational use of water and prepare wallpapers, make plans and disseminate information through the Internet. They suggested using sturdy cloth bags instead of plastic bags in stores to buy basic necessities.

They stressed the need for more frequent training seminars on the joint development of society, the environment and the economy in the field of sustainable environmental development. ‘We are convinced that every citizen should take care of the environment and ensure the safety of future generations, she said, and she hopes that such training courses will continue.

It should be noted that in September similar training courses will be organized for other self-help groups.
