Project title: ‘Children Victims of the Violent Clashes Overcome Their Post-Traumatic Stress’.

The project overall goal: To contribute to Kyrgyz and Uzbek girls and boys who are confident in interethnic and peaceful future in the south of Kyrgyzstan.

The project purpose: Kyrgyz and Uzbek girl and boys of the violent clashes of June visit the mobile clinics and participate in games/sessions/counseling.

Project result:

1) 16 local co-trainers were prepared (12 women, 4 men; 11 Kyrgyz, 5 Uzbek) on ‘Psychological Post Stress Adaptation’. Co-trainers had been provided with necessary materials for conduction of psychodiagnostic and correctional works. Local co-trainers had worked in 5 mobile mental health clinics, organized in the framework of the project.

2) As a result of mobile clinics activities, 522 children (Uzbek-244, kyrgyz-250, turkish-26, tadjik-1, uygur-1) 280 girls and 242 boys from them have passed the psychological diagnostic and correctional arrangements.

3) 3 playgrounds and 2 sports playgrounds had been constructed for children. WPU Erayim could unite the local authorities, entrepreneurs, and society as well. 43000 US dollars attracted as an additional financial means is as the proof of cooperation level of WPU Erayim with interested parties.

The project partners are given below: - The Kyrgyz Republic administration; - Kyrgyz National University of Jusup Balasagyn; - Bazar-Korgon village district and high-school of J. Bokonbaev; - Shark village district and high-school №101 of K. Mombekov; - Osh city, ‘Aktilek’ and branch of Kyrgyz National University of Jusup Balasagyn; - Mady village district and high-school №4 of Sydyk Alaychy; - Kyzyl-Kyshtak village district and High-school №24 of Omurbek Datka. - The Ministry of Health Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic. - Business Company ‘Shin Line’. - Business Company ‘Shoro’.

4) 100 children (30 Uzbek, 70 Kyrgyz, 50 girls, 50 boys) have rested at Children Sanitary Complex (CSC) ‘Barchyn’ located at Issyk-Kul for 10 days. The expense for 10-day summer camp for 100 project children from the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic made 1500000 Soms.

5) The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic took the responsibility to render the medical treatment to 39 children who got the serious stage of post-traumatic stress.

6) WPU Erayim has prepared an exhibition and special video film to show the project results and endeavor of all interested parties in the project.

7) Fruitful cooperation of WPU Erayim with local authorities and business structures enabled to attract additional financial means in the amount of 1999500 KGS (43000 USD).
