Within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ - supported by the German international organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt) - legal adviser of the project in Jalal-Abad oblast Gulnara Tashieva, organized an event specifically for school students.

Apart from giving legal advices to people and protecting their rights, she also decided to give students more information about the writer Chyngyz Aitmatov in honor of his 90th anniversary. She held an open lesson for high school students in the Makarenko school of Bazar-Korgon district. During the first session, she shared her knowledge about the writers life, whereas there was room for questions and answers afterwards about compared forgiving and present time which the great writer mentioned in his works. Later that day she showed a TV interview that was filmed many years ago when the writer was 63 years old. In this interview, Rakhila Zhusupova, Chairwoman of the WPU Erayim, and the Kyrgyz People’s Writer, Hero of Socialist Labor, and prominent writer Chyngyz Aitmatov spoke to one another. Here students received valuable information for themselves and heard the voice of the writer himself. They paid attention to his every word, felt his worldview and philosophical thoughts.

- “I carefully and interestingly watched this interview. Taken 27 years ago, the video seemed only yesterday. It seems to me that the great writer still lives among us.” In general, 150 senior students participated in the event from which students took many new information about the life and work of the writer home. “It would also be nice if such interviews were shown on television,” G. Tashieva noted.
