Maternal schools of Bazar-Korgon and Akman rural districts of Bazar-Korgon district in Jalal-Abad province created within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ supported by the German international organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt) were presented the gifts.

In our country, one of the acute problems is the lack of kindergartens in rural areas. In addition, unemployment forced parents to travel to Russia, Kazakhstan, and other foreign countries for work, leaving their children to grandparents. The bitter truth is that children are not what without proper upbringing, but sometimes without normal food and clothing. Namely to contribute to solving this problem WPU Erayim attracted an international organization.

According to the project, in the first phase of the project, it was planned to open 20 maternal schools in Mady, Shark and Kyzyl-Kyshtak rural districts of Kara-Suu district in Osh province and 20 maternal schools in Bazar-Korgon and Akman rural districts of Bazar-Korgon district in Jalal-Abad province. At this stage, project specialists in these villages carried out analytical work and conducted motivating training courses for women. At the same time, meetings were held with the population and their wishes and demands were heard. The local population noted the lack of kindergartens as the main problem and where children could receive pre-school education and upbringing. In world practice, in parenting the role of maternal schools is enormous. Given these problems, residents offered to open maternal schools as part of the project. Our proposal has found support among the population. First of all, we clarified in which regions and villages maternal schools should be opened. Then we selected specialists to work in maternal schools, and then organized 72-hour training courses to increase the knowledge of directors and teachers. To strengthen the educational base, we collaborated with the International Public Foundation ‘Roza Otunbayeva Initiative’. As a result, maternal schools were provided with books and toys. 15 maternal schools in Kara-Suu district of Osh province and 15 maternal schools of the Bazar-Korgon district in Jalal-Abad province within the framework the project of WPU Erayim's ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan' were presented with refrigerators and electric-gas stoves, - said Rakhila Zhusupova, chairwoman of WPU Erayim, during the opening a solemn meeting with representatives of maternal schools in Bazar-Korgon district. Zamira Adysheva, deputy head of the Bazar-Korgon district state administration, noted that Erayim has done a great job in attracting projects to rural areas, helping rural people to solve their problems, thereby contributing to improving the social and economic life of rural residents. She also noted that the presented gifts are valuable gifts for the residents of the district in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Bazar-Korgon district and expressed her gratitude to WPU Erayim. In addition, the leaders of each maternal school thanked the organization for the new refrigerators, since the refrigerators they have are old and very small. There were problems in preparing meals for children. Some cooked food on the street on homemade boilers. This caused particular inconvenience in rainy and cold weather. Therefore, they were immensely happy for the gifts of Bread for the World.

It should be noted that out of 20 maternal schools in two rural districts, 5 maternal schools are included in the budget, 1 is private and the rest are seasonal. In total, about 1,000 children are brought up in these maternal schools. But this time 12 maternal schools received gifts in Bazar-Korgon district. This was the decision of the organization’s representatives who monitored and assessed the conditions of the maternal schools in the area. 12 schools met the requirements of special criteria. In the near future will be monitored again. After that, three more maternal schools that meet the criteria will receive refrigerators and electric-gas stoves. In total, 30 refrigerators and 30 electric-gas stoves were brought for the maternal schools of the two provinces. Maternal schools in Osh province were awarded 15 refrigerators and 15 stoves.
