The Cooperation with the German ASA Program Continues

The cooperation of WPU Erayim with the German ASA Program, which is financed by The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany, continues. The ASA Programs Intern from July to September 2018 is Marie Robinski.
This year, the cooperation with the ASA Program is being carried out within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, financed by the international German organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt). Within the project Marie Robinski conducts research in the field of sustainable development of SHGs and has been providing English lessons for the children and adults who are either part of a SHG, maternal schools or the English Club. Upon her arrival in Bishkek Marie discussed the main tasks of the project activities with SHGs Experts of WPU Erayim: Abdylas Koshumbayev and Elmira Sepishova.
She then took off to the south of the country, starting with a three week stay in Osh from July 31st until August 22nd 2018. There she got acquainted with the project staff of WPU Erayim of Osh oblast as well as with the project activities in Mady, Shark and Kyzyl-Kyshtak villages of Kara-Suu district in Osh oblast. The project staff introduced her to the process and progress within the project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’.
Marie Robinski, who came as a volunteer, noted that her main goal is working with self-help groups. She spent most of her time acquainting herself with SHG members and teaching English introducing the children to new methods of learning a foreign language. In the course of her work, she oversaw the activities of SHGs in the Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak village districts, and she also managed to hold a seminar on ‘Family Finance’ for SHG members in Russian and English. During her stay in Osh oblast, Marie got acquainted with the work and conditions of the maternal schools in Mady, Shark, and Kyzyl-Kyshtak village districts and she also participated in seminars of mobile psychological aid clinic.
