In May and June 2018, within the framework of WPU Erayim’s project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, supported by the German international organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt), an event was held among the secondary schools Abu Ali ibn Sina, No. 16, Kurmanzhan Datka, No. 86 and K. Matkeimov, No. 117 in the villages of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak of Kara-Suu district in Osh province.
The members of the Russian language, Ethno-ensemble and Forum-Theatre clubs organized this event. In it, the members of the Forum-Theater performed plays on the following three topics: ‘The harm of Gambling’, ‘The Consequences of Disagreements between Parents and Children in Choosing a Profession’ and ‘Violence among Schoolchildren’. There was a heated discussion among parents, teachers and pupils of schools, who were spectators of the Forum-Theater. They actively played roles, offering their own solutions to problems. In turn, the participants of the Russian language club sang songs in Russian and recited poems. The talented children of the Ethno-ensemble club performed the songs ‘Yallam Yorim’, ‘Karagat’ and ‘Baldarai-kizdaray’, accompanied by musical instruments of different nations.
The main purpose of the event was to demonstrate the results of the clubs’ activities over the year and their achievements to parents, teachers and SHGs, CSHG. Through songs and plays they were able to show friendship and consent among the population. Employees of WPU Erayim awarded the very active members of the clubs letters of appreciation on their last day at school.
