At the secondary school named after Toktogul Satylganov in the Bazar-Korgon district participants of the Theatre Forum club performed a play entitled ‘City Girl’.
The play addresses the problem of school conflicts. This time it is not about fighting among boys, but the quarrels among girls. The Theatre Forum was organized within the framework of the WPU Erayim project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, financed by the German international organization Bread for the World. The 'Theatre Forum' club is attended by 12 students. Before that, they staged scenes such as ‘Early Marriages and Their Consequences’ and ‘Seven Sons of the Old Woman’. This time the theme of the play was chosen by the children themselves. Because, widespread in social networks, the recent fights among girls haven’t left children indifferent to this problem. Therefore, they decided to prevent such negative phenomena in their school, not to allow such conflict, so they brought this topic to the audience for discussion. Schoolchildren, teachers and members of the SHG, parents, as well as members of WPU Erayim, actively participated in discussions, sought ways to prevent it, and offered their solutions.
“In this scene, we are talking about a girl who came from a city. Her beauty, behaviour and excellent academic performance were the subject of envy of her class-mates and they treated her badly. On top of all of this they began to demand money as a tax. When she to the village with her brother. The girl fell into depression and committed suicide. We want to prevent such a negative phenomenon, this requires the participation of school teachers and society," said an activist of the circle, Samara Davlatova.
It should be noted that this group has staged ‘The 16 Girls’ in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Bazar-Korgon district.
