The well-known talented daughter of the Kyrgyz people Burul Stamkulova heads the Ethno-ensemble club in Jalal-Abad province which works at secondary schools of the districts involved into the WPU Erayim’s ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ project.

- “I have been cooperating with WPU Eraiym for many years. Before this project I was lucky to help in the implementation of many other projects of this organization. When the new project was launched, I agreed to continue cooperation, despite my busy schedule, and now I work as a head of school musical club according to this project. Children who never held kyrgyz national musical instrument ‘komuz’ came to the club where they learned to play perfectly on this instrument. In addition to the komuz, since this club is called ‘Ethno-ensemble’, they learn to play other national musical instruments like ooz komuz, rubab, shyldyrama and dombra. This club works in the secondary school named after Toktogul Satylganov and the Gymnasium named after Joomart Bokonbaev of the Bazar-Korgon district, as well as in the secondary school named after Alym Usman of Jalal-Abad city. In each school, there are really enthusiastic children and their number in each school reaches ten or more. To date, many of them have learned to play five melodies, and some of them three, and also are engaged in singing in the ensemble. To develop the talent of children we go on tours together with other clubs, for example, with forum-theater club. We participate in various cultural events organized by the SHGs and CSHGs. For example, on the holiday of Nooruz our ensemble did not stay aside, we prepared concert for parents and residents of our villages to congratulate them with this spring holiday,” - says Burul Stamkulova.
