In the village districts of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak of the Kara-Suu district, the members of the self-help groups ‘Navbakhar’, ‘Bektursun’, ‘Baibol’, ‘Ak Niyet’ of WPU Erayim conducted activities to prepare Sumalak a festive treat in honor of the holiday Nooruz.

Such event is held by self-help groups every year. At present, the mood of the villagers is festive and they are preparing to meet the Eastern New Year Nooruz together. At the festive event, under the name ‘Sumalak is the Ritual of Nooruz’, representatives of all nationalities living in these villages showed their traditions as part of the festive program. The organizers, who are SHG members, are certain that the celebration of the Nooruz holiday strengthens the friendship of the two nations, and the participants of the holiday confirmed that Nooruz is a national holiday.
