Head of the English language club Aisuluu Orozova, who works in the secondary schools of Jalal-Abad province on the project of WPU Erayim ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ tries to make her students learn English more in depth language using modern teaching methods.

One of such training methods is the organization of events dedicated to American holidays. She organized, together with the American Center at the Jalal-Abad University, a meeting dedicated to the American Thanksgiving Day with the members of the English Language Club from the boarding school named after Joomart Bokonbaev and the secondary school named after Isak uulu Teshebay of the Bazar-Korgon district. The purpose of this event was to introduce children to English books, visual aids, equipment available in the center, and conduct a conversation in English and receive appropriate communication skills in English.

- In the past, I had taken some members of the club to the American Center from school №7 named after Alym Usman in Jalal-Abad city. The children were very happy then and were surprised by everything in the center. So I got permission to visit the center from time to time with the children, because the school is located not far from the American Center. Today I came to the center with 21 students from the Bazar-Korgon district. The children were very happy about this trip and they had a strong desire to continue to find free time to come here to strengthen their theoretical knowledge gained in the English language club. This method of teaching is called the method of language exchange, where children communicate with native speakers working in this center,” - says Aisuluu. She also noted that the children on that day showed everything they had learned in the club: they read the texts, told poems in English and most importantly spoke in English. Employees of the center treated children with sweets and presented them some gifts. Every minute of the meeting gave immeasurable joy to the children and this will remain a good memory for them. "The organization of such meetings will continue, because the number of participants in the club is more than fifty students and all of them want to visit the American center very much. Therefore, to familiarize them with the center and increase their knowledge is my main goal. In addition, the requirements for knowledge of today's children are high and they want to know more and more," added Aisuluu.
