The WPU Erayim’s project performed in cooperation with the ASA Program has achieved its objectives

On the basis of the project "Supporting Participation for Rural Development and Sustainable Tourism" being implemented in cooperation with the Women’s Public Union Eraiym and the German ASA Program1, a new website has been launched with the domain name ecovillage.kg.
This project was implemented by the efforts of 2016 volunteers of ASA Program Ekaterina Freidenberg, Jana Wille and 2017 volunteer Lena Schuster. When realizing this project, the staff members of the Women’s Public Union Eraiym and the coordinators for the Self-Help Groups Koshumbaev Abdylas and Sepishova Elmira were also playing a major role.
The aim of the project is the support of eco- and agrotouristic activities in the regions of Kyrgyzstan with the purpose of preserving the ecological, social and cultural treasures of Kyrgyzstan and improve the life situation of the rural population.
Referring to www.ecovillage.kg website you can find information about ecotourism and sustainable travel including the guest houses and regions of Kyrgyzstan. All this information was gathered by ASA Program volunteers and employees of the organization Eraiym.
This project has been launched as a pilot project and will expand its activities in the future and continue working towards the goals set.
