31.07.2017 18:41
Four English language summer- schools are taking place between 17 of July and 11 August in Ak-Orgo and Ak-Ordo, Alchaluu near Tokmok, Chaek and Kok-Oi in the Jumgal Valley. 540 students take part in summer schools (80 students in Ak-Orgo and Ak-Ordo, 59 in Alchaluu, 318 in Chaek and 83 in Kok-Oy).
The schools last for a month and are free of charge.
The courses are given by eight volunteers from the United Kingdom and one Kyrgyz teacher. Four of the teachers are very experienced and the others are students of the Russian language in the best universities. Everyone has taken part in two and a half days of training and team building in Bishkek prior to the summer-schools. They have visited the city and Supara 1 where they had the opportunity of hearing a inspiring conference given by Chynara Seidakmatova. on the traditional Kyrgyz understanding of life and nature.
The methods used in the schools are based on interaction and communication. They involve a lot of activities and games. In Chaek the British students are supported by young Kyrgyz volunteer students who help with translations from the Kyrgyz language.
The British volunteers have paid for their travel and their accommodation themselves. The organisation has been funded by various donors in Great Britain under the framework of the Erayim Aid Trust UK. The British government supports our charitable organisations up to 25 %. We hope that all the Kyrgyz pupils have as much fun at the schools as our volunteers. Those also take part in exciting trips to Son-Kyl and other beautiful places. They enjoy living in Kyrgyz families and absorbing the local culture.
