In Shark and Mady villages in Kara-Suu district of Osh province, seven self-help groups (SHGs) and children’s self-help groups (CSHGs) organized by women’s public union Erayim went to Abshyr-Sai jailoo in Nookat district as part of the ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ project, which is financed by the international German organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt).
The jailoo is located 70 kilometers from Osh city and its river is between 1500 and 2500 meters above sea level. There is also a waterfall, which astounds all its guests. The water falls 12-15 meters from the top of the mountain. Within the framework of the ‘Friendly Street’ event, members of SHG, CSHG, parents and children of the rural districts of Mady and Shark who live on the same street rested in the fresh air, surrounded by the nature of the Abshyr-Ata waterfall. They also visited a mysterious cave, which has ancient historical information. Representatives of two nationalities sat at the same table and sang and danced together and were able to strengthen friendship and unity. At the same time, they noted that they had a feeling of patriotism and love for their country and nature. "The rest was very interesting and unforgettable. Adults and children played different games and had a wonderful rest in the fresh air. We will continue to organize such events," said Dilfuza Anarbaeva, the project psychologist, Narynkul Dushenalieva, the project's SHG coordinator, and Kiyal Mamazhanova, the CSHG coordinator.
