The project of the WPU Erayim ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ has been implemented in the village districts of Osh and Jalal-Abad provinces since 2014. In this project, the main focus is given to strengthening the friendship and harmony of the peoples in the villages, increasing the social activity of the villagers, initiatives to improve the living standards of the villagers, and working in groups. For this purpose, self-help groups have been formed in the project area and there are more than thirty self-help groups are operating in two regions.
Among them there is a group of teachers working in secondary school named after Toktogul Satylganov of Bazar-Korgon district. They formed their self-help group and named it ‘Kesiptesh’ ten years ago. The self-help group is consisted of twelve teachers; this group implements many social works, not only for its secondary school, but also for the village of Kayirma and Akman village district, cooperating with local government authorities. By the initiative of the active member of the group Yrys Atageldiyev they took ten hundred square meters of land for the construction of a sanatorium - a health center for senior villagers. To realize their goal, they began to write projects to international organizations.
“The people still do not understand the role of self-help groups in public life. Many of our members of the group took special trainings. At the core, such self-help groups carry out work that makes a big contribution to the development of the country. So, if we can open this sanatorium for the elderly, to strengthen their health and if this sanatorium starts working then the new jobs will appear. It should be noted that there is no such kind of sanatorium in Kyrgyzstan. With the realization of our goal, the elderly people not only from our village or region, but also from all parts of our country will be able to come to have a rest and strengthen their health” says the group activist, teacher Alimbu Bokuyeva.
Zulayka Zholdosheva, Alimbu Bokuyeva, Inabat Eralieva, Zhamila Zhusupova, Aisha Satimbayeva, Zhumakan Chyrmasheva, Zhumakan Arykbayeva, Gulzhamila Narbotoyeva, Kishimzhan Kudayberdiyeva, Ayim Batyrkulova, Aizhanil Ibraimova are working in the field of education, giving quality education to children. Without wasting precious time they are engaged in important public works of the village. They generate new initiatives, and also try to increase the group's own overall financial fund. Having nearly half a million of Soms in their own capital in circulation, they intend to create the Association, and then to open a bank in the future.
