‘Green Region’ Campaign

The self-help group members formed by the Women Public Union Erayim took an active part in the ‘Green Region’ campaign organized in the villages of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak in the Kara-Suu district of Osh Province.
In the village of Mady, members of self-help groups ‘Dolot’, ‘Dostuk’, ‘Oomat’ and ‘Zhakshylyk’ cleaned large and small irrigation ditches with a length of four kilometers, after which they planted seedlings of fertile trees in the amount of 122 pieces, poplar in the amount of 256 pieces and flowers in an amount of 230 pieces. In Kyzyl-Kyshtak village, self-help groups ‘Terekzar’, ‘Tatyna’, ‘Ak Zhol’ and ‘Baibol’ carried out cleaning of large and small irrigation ditches with a length of two and a half kilometers, planted 110 seedlings of fertile trees, 116 seedlings of poplars and 188 seedlings of different flowers, and also they planted seedlings of new strawberry on five hectares of agricultural land. The members of ‘Gulbakhar’, ‘Akzhol’ and ‘Bereke’ self-help groups of Shark village also actively participated in the ‘Green Region’ campaign. They cleaned the irrigation ditches with a length of three and a half kilometers, after which they planted 260 pieces of fertile trees, 206 poplar seedlings and 380 pieces of different kinds of flowers, and also they planted lettuce leaves on 50 square meters.
The ‘Green Region’ campaign on the one hand contributed to the sanitary purity of the rural region; on the other hand, it challenged the residents to keep their territory clean and with their own efforts to promote the development and order in their villages.
