Clean Water is the Key to Longevity

In the rural districts of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak in the Kara-Suu district of Osh Province, an event entitled ‘Clean Water is the Key to Longevity’ was organized by the self-help groups created by the Women’s Public Union Erayim.
The main goal of the event was to provide clean drinking water to the inhabitants of these villages. They cleared the banks of the Mashrab-Sai River at the length of 3 kilometers and the surroundings of five pipelines. Seventeen members of self-help groups took part in the event. Their initiative was supported by local authorities and they bought garbage bags worth 6,700 Soms. The collected garbage was taken to the special place designated for garbage by the initiators of the event.
And also the members of the self-help groups in Shark village, cleared the banks of the Uvam River at the length of one and a half kilometers, and installed concrete gabions worth 60,000 Soms to prevent mudflows during heavy rains. This work was carried out jointly with the village activists and other public organizations. It should be noted that the village streets were also cleared at this event. The initiators of this event noted that such events will be held more than once in the future.
