There was no kindergarten in the village of Machak in Shark village district of Kara-Suu district, Osh Province. Even though there are about 10 thousand people who live in this village, the children were not given proper attention.
A villager Karimakhan Azimov opened the ‘Maternal School’ in his house and named it ‘Kyzgaldak Nuru’. This institution accepted 50 village children and attracted ten women and girls of the village for the upbringing the children in the maternal school. The villagers welcomed this maternal school with joy. The chairwoman of the WPU Erayim Rakhila Zhusupova, the program manager of the organization Gulnara Nurmatova, the head of the village Ulukbek Sultanov, the deputies of the rural kenesh Israilzhan Karabaev, the villagers and parents took part in the opening ceremony of the maternal school.
It should be noted that this maternal school is being opened within the framework of the WPU Erayim’s ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ project, funded by the German international organization Bread for the World. The number of functioning maternal schools grew by one more unit.
