The residents of Kyzyl-Kyshtak, Shark and Mady rural districts in the Kara-Suu Region organized a music festival ‘Yr Kese’, which they named Friendship. The festival was arranged by the members of the self-help groups in these districts and coincided with Nooruz festival, which marks the arrival of spring.

Participants wore national costume and prepared a large table full of national dishes. Representatives of each ethnicity sang traditional songs and, at the beginning of the event, sumalak was served to all participants and guests. During the blessing of the event by the local elders, a picture was found in the sumalak when the cauldron was opened; this was taken to be a good omen. As well as traditional songs, participants performed songs about peace and friendship.
