Best of the best are awarded

A forum entitled ‘Self help groups are the bridge to peace and development’ was held as part of the concluding activities for WPU Erayim’s three-year ‘The introduction of a combination of traditional and modern approaches to prevent conflict in the south of Kyrgyzstan’ project, supported by the German international organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt). This project is being implemented in the Kara-Suu district of Osh province, the Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad province, and in the Chingiz Aitmatov district of Jalal-Abad city.
The best self help groups (SHGs) and schools who took part in this project were awarded in the second part of the forum. The following bodies received thank you notes for their active cooperation with the work of the project: Danakan Bektasheva (representative of the State Agency on Local Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kara-Suu district), the heads of Shark, Mady, and Kyzyl-Kyshtak village districts, and Kurmanjan Datka secondary school №86, K. Matkerimov secondary school №117, and Abu Ali Ibn Sina secondary school №16.
The best SHGs were identified and awarded with certificates; the Ak-Niet SHG was named as the ‘Model SHG’, the Yntymak SHG was recognized as the best SHG leading activities in the area of peace, harmony, friendship and unity consolidation, the Tazagul SHG was recognized as the best SHG in the area of entrepreneurship and for effective cooperation with stakeholders within the project, and the Tatyna SHG was recognized as the best SHG and awarded with a certificate.
