“The introduction of a combination of traditional and modern approaches to prevent conflict in the south of Kyrgyzstan” is a project which is run by the “Erayim” women’s public union in the Shark, Mady, Kyzyl Kyshtak villages of the Kara-Suu region, Osh province and supported by the German “Bread for the World” international organization. Supported by the project, groups of local residents have raised the setting up of new Nursery School as an important issue in their area.
Nursery Schools provide care and education for pre-school children, with a special focus on the children of internal migrants. At present, young children are disadvantaged if they are living in rural areas because there is a serious shortage of Nursery schools. In response to this, a training course was set up for members of self-help groups who are interested in opening a Nursery school.
It was run by Mrs. Dilnora Maykulova, director of the pre-school children’s resource center at the Bishkek kindergarten #186, who is also a partner of WPU Erayim. The course took place at “Abu Ali ibn Sina” secondary school, which is located in Shark village.
“We have registered 21 people this year who are interested in opening a Nursery school’ said Mrs. Gulkair Joldubaeva, the Erayim representative responsible for the Nursery Education programme ‘Most of them would like to run the schools in spare rooms in their own homes. This course provided participants with a lot of detailed information on how to set up and run a Nursery school.”
This information was provided by Mr. Erlan Davlatov, Erayim’s PR specialist for the Osh province.
