Taking Our Lives into Our Hands project in Kara-Suu

The project "Taking Our Lives into Our Hands" started its work in Uchkun village of Kara-Suu district. Traditionally, for the successful implementation of the new project, WPU Erayim signed a memorandum with the local government.
The new project is implemented by the Women's Public Union Erayim with the financial support of the US International organization of the ELCA.
The project aims at contributing to the improvement of the life quality of vulnerable people, especially women, in remote rural areas in the north and south of the Kyrgyz Republic. It will be implemented in 4 oblasts of Kyrgyzstan, namely Mady rural district in Kara-Suu district of Osh oblast, Beshik-Jon rural district in Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad oblast, Toguz-Bulak rural district in Tup district of Issyk-Kul oblast and Chaek rural district in Jumgal district of Naryn oblast.
The presentation of the project in Kara-Suu district took place on April 19 of this year at Uchkun School #97 in Mady. The event was attended by members of Self-Help Groups, representatives of local self-government bodies and other stakeholders.
Rakhila Zhusupova, chairperson of WPU Erayim opened the event and she briefly told about the project and introduced the participants to the history of the organization. Project coordinator Altynai Sabyrbekova presented details about the new project. She told in detail about the goals, components, activities and expected results of the project.
At the end of the event, the participants wished success in the work of WPU Erayim and an elder among the participants gave her blessing for the successful implementation of the project.
