Mavlyuda Iminova, head of ‘Dostuk’ SHG, and her team currently operate three greenhouses. ‘Dostuk’ and ‘Adilet’ self-help groups were created in November 2020 in the village of Kyzyl-Ai Seydikum municipality.

Eighteen members of ‘Dostuk’ and ‘Adilet’ SHGs hire twelve more people, and 30 people at all work in the greenhouses. Each greenhouse is thirty-two meters long and nine meters wide (32 x 9). These greenhouses were launched in August 2021. The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) provided construction materials in the amount of two million two hundred thousand soms for the construction of greenhouses. The organization hired a specialist and helped to build a greenhouse. Also, at the request of the above-mentioned organization, it was necessary to feed the crops with natural fertilizers, to provide the population with fruits grown on organic fertilizers. The land was given by Seidikum municipality. It was abandoned land. SHGs’ members wrote a project for the above-mentioned organization on the construction of a greenhouse in one hectare that meets all standards. In addition, in the spring they planted tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and bell peppers on ninety acres of open-air land, which they sold during the summer and autumn months, making a significant contribution to the family budget. Cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers are grown in the greenhouse. The first crop was harvested in October, and the profit from the sale covered the SHGs’ private investment into the greenhouse. Now they are planting seedlings of tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers in cups for sale in early spring this year. The profit from the next sale will be the net income of the SHGs,- says Mavlyuda.
