Information fair on project activities

An information fair was held in Jalal-Abad based on the results of the third stage of the project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Modern and Traditional Approaches to Prevent the Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, implemented by the WPU Erayim.
It was attended by the head of WPU Eraiym Rakhila Zhusupova, organizational development and fundraising expert Julia Suchar, employees of the organization Altynay Sabyrbekova, Mamatkazy Kaparov, head of the Bazar-Korgon district administration Zhanysak Satybaldiev, head of the Akman rural district Marsel Kokonov, Executive Secretary of the Bazar-Korgon Mayor's Office Gulipa Sagynbaeva, heads and representatives of the district education department who are involved in the project, heads of public organizations, as well as the public of the project area.
The project covers Akman municipality and Bazar-Korgon city Bazar-Korgon district Jalal-Abad oblast. The project has been implementing in three phases. Phase one was implemented from 2014 to 2016, phase two was implemented from 2017 to 2019 and phase three has been implemented from 2019. In these periods of time the project worked in four directions. The first direction is solving social and economic issues, living standards of low-income groups by creating self-help groups. Since the beginning of the project, 37 self-help groups and 3 Associations SHGs have been created of 311 rural citizens. At the meeting, SHGs and Associations of SHGs presented their work done reports. The leaders of the Associations SHGs, Satybaldieva Magripa, Zholdosheva Zulayka and Ergeshova Klara, reported on the successes of each Association. They noted that Akyikat and Asylzat Associations SHGs have opened sewing workshops to provide services to villagers. At the same time, they improved their economic situation. Also, the SHGs reconstructed and illuminated inner streets, installed trash cans, and replaced school furniture. Association SHGs Perishte opened a greenhouse, grows vegetables and makes money on it. They meet their small needs.
The second direction of the project is the opening of maternal schools to provide care and preschool services for rural children. Based on the project, 23 permanent and 7 short-term maternal schools are operating in the region. The maternal schools cover 2,303 rural children. On the day of the meeting educators of maternal schools Gulnara, Perishte, Nazik and Nagima organized an exhibition of handmade toys, visual aids specially made for preschool children aged out of fabrics and unused things. The things were very unusual, naturally and originally. Each item of the exhibition aroused the interest of visitors made of plastic bags, plastic containers, leaves and dried grains such as corn, wheat and beans.
The next direction of the project is the provision of legal and psychological assistance to the rural population. The lawyer of the project Gulnara Tashieva and the psychologist of the project Zhyldyz Kaldarbekova reported on the issue. Only at the third stage of the project, 87 people received legal assistance in various questions. 225 thousand soms were recovered as alimony payment, 21 thousand soms was provided to vulnerable people. Six citizens were provided assistance in the legalization of housing that is in obtaining the relevant documents. At schools of the project area, 30 children's self-help groups of 300 schoolchildren were created. They carried out work on advocacy and lobbying, social, environmental, cultural and educational directions. An exhibition of schoolchildren’s paintings has been prepared on the day of the meeting too. Aziz Orozaliev, the ChSHG project coordinator, provided information on ChSHG. Then the participants of the English language club sang songs in English, their performance and language proficiency at their level aroused the interest of the participants. It should be noted that schoolchildren are very interested in learning English. A group of the first members of the club visited America. They work with the American Center for the Study of Languages Jalal-Abad state university. Thanks to the efforts of the head of the club, Aisuluu Orozova, they participate in various competitions and always return with success. The ethno-ensemble club formed an instrumental ensemble of Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Russians, Tajiks and Kazakh national musical instruments. The members of the club performed folk songs and dances.
At the end of the event, the guests shared their opinions. Rakhila Zhusupova, head of WPU Erayim, provided detailed information on the objectives and tasks of the project. She also told about plans for the future, the benefits of the project, its impact on increasing the activity of rural residents by supporting their initiatives and will strengthen the unity of people, friendship and peace in the region. The Head of the Bazar-Korgon district administration Zhanysak Satybaldiev did not hide his joy from the good work done within the framework of the project. “Within the framework of this project, a lot of work is being done for the residents of the district. We support this project, which serves people, and we will support the organization in every possible way, ” he said. The head of Akman municipality, Marsel Kokonov, spoke about the work of ‘Erayim’ and the achievements over the years of cooperation. Other guests also noted that the project was of great benefit to the villagers and expressed their views on further strengthening of cooperation.
The guests noted that the meeting was organized at a high level, and thanked the project coordinator Maksat Pirmatov and SHG coordinator Kishimzhan Boronbaeva, for the organization of the meeting at a high level.
