On March 2, 2019, a meeting was held at the initiative of the Sharq Association, the school community, and the deputies of the village council of Shark village at the secondary school No. 16 named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. The meeting was attended by representatives of the local community and a representative of the Qatar Foundation, Toktosun Murataliev.
The main issue on the agenda was the construction of a new school, which have been becoming the main problem of the locals. The members of the SHG and CSHG of the Shark village addressed a letter to the Village Council, at their request the deputies of the Village Council J. Abdiraimov and Aibek Akimzhanov in search of a sponsor turned to the Qatar Foundation.
The school director Ranokhan Yulchiyeva says in her words that the school is very close to stop its existing, although the quality of education is not worse than other schools, with the support of the WPU Erayim, the children go to clubs, the teachers are very experienced, so as the school building is very old young teachers do not want to work at our school. 50 percent of teachers are already at retirement age and will retire within two or three years. If young teachers come to work at our school, then the atmosphere of the school would change, a new wave would come to our school. Many parents began to take their children to the city, in our school 85% of students are from average statistical and low-income families. There are not enough classrooms, when events are held we have to limit the actions of schoolchildren so that the floor does not fall down. There are problems with painting walls and floors, as they no longer take paint.
A representative of the Qatar Foundation, Toktosun Murataliev, expressed his opinion: “Our organization’s plans include the construction of kindergartens and schools, the construction of your school should be included in our plan.”
At the end of the event, Shaista Latipova, a member of the Shark Association, noted that in order to support this initiative, SHG members can mobilize the local community, provide information support, technical assistance in drafting a project, and appeal to the necessary authorities. Among the participants were those who suggested organizing a marathon to raise funds for the construction of the school.
At the end of the meeting, members of the Shark Association proposed to create an initiative group for the further promotion of the construction of a new school. A total of 11 people were elected to the initiative group for the construction of a new school.
