Project goal: 6 Associations of SHGs which encompasses 36 adult SHGs of different ethnicities in Mady, Kyzyl-Kyshlak, Bazar-Korgon, Shark, Akman A/As together with all stakeholders build peaceful infrastructure (environment).

Project results:
1) 80 adult and 60 youth SHGs, established in the area as local institutions, and their multi-ethnic members are making their contributions to improve local social, economic and ecological situation in the region. SHGs and YSHGs have achieved good results in resolving 3 social and 3 ecological issues, carrying out 5 promotion and advocacy activities and opening 6 income generating small businesses in the reporting period.
2) An important role of the SHGs in strengthening people’s unity, friendship and creating positive mood for life in the project area was demonstrated in 12 cultural and 8 charity activities that they carried out together
3) The SHGs started 6 small businesses within the reporting period. - The SHGs contributed to obtaining an official status by 61.7% of 47 MSs and improving operating conditions in 17 MSs. 3 social and 3 ecological problems were resolved, 6 lobbying and advocacy activities ended with success, 5 small businesses were opened, 12 interethnic unity and friendship and 8 charity activities were held. - SHG funds in 2017 made 3,913,628 KGS or 45, 843.12 EUR. The money came from the following sources: - 1,602,368 soms – from savings of 80 SHGs; - 277, 280 soms – SHG and YSHG contributions; - 680,000 soms – loan from the ‘Erayim Bereke’ Micro-Credit Agency; - 300,000 soms – loan from the Companion Bank; - 514,980 soms – funds raised from local businesses, sponsors, authorities; - 539,000 soms – profit from small businesses.
4) 61.7% of 47 maternal schools (MS) opened in 2017 obtained an official status. 17 of the MS are now funded by the local LSGs and 8 of them got licensed, 3 more already had licenses and 1 remains private and improving operating conditions of by them in the projects’ immediate environment. The 47 MSs are attended by 1,959 children (935 girls and 1,024 boys), including 42 children with disabilities. 428 children (225 girls and 203 boys) from the 47 MSs became 1st grade pupils. These children were replaced in the MSs by other children.
5) According to the social workers of 6 ayil aymaks (AA) or rural municipalities, 408 families needed psychological assistance. 274 or 23.5% of them received psychological assistance in 2017, including 122 adults, (19.6% men, 80.3% women), 152 youth. (49.3% boys, 50.5% girls).
6) The legal assistance to SHG members and residents of the project area, as well as close cooperation between the project beneficiaries and other stakeholders are contributing to successful implementation of the project. Thus, 66 people (51 women and 15 men) received legal advice.
