Dilnoza Astanakulova, a resident of the village of Bazar-Korgon, Bazar-Korgon district, in November last year turned to Gulnara Tashieva, a lawyer for the Erayim project 'The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent the Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ supported by the German international organization Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt).

Her husband left for Russia three years ago. However, he did not care for his family and did not send money. They have a minor child. They also built a house in the village. Dilnoza turned to a lawyer as they did not have a marriage certificate. She doesn't even know how to collect the necessary paperwork. She turned to lawyers in search of a legal solution to the issue of divorce and division of property. However, there was no proper help and no response. To solve the problem, first Gulnara Tashieva turned to the migration service. With their help, they contacted Dilnoza's husband, who was in Russia. Dilnoza's spouse said he has no plans to divorce and cannot help his wife and child because his work in Russia is not going well and his income is barely enough to live on. So, making sure that the spouses can live together, she helped fill out and prepare all the necessary documents for reconciliation. Now her husband is ready to meet her in Russia. Here the lawyer negotiated with the use of the mediation approach.

- There are times when you want to deal with clients only legally or solve their problems, but the matter is not resolved positively. In such cases, the mediation process is very important. Dilnoza was fully prepared for the final divorce from her husband, as she had been tired of everything for the past three years. She suffered both morally and financially. So divorce was the only way out. Many times I had a conversation with her and urged her to think about the fate of her son, about her own fate and look into the future. In the same way, I negotiated with her husband on the phone, not only as a lawyer, but also as an impartial person, and finally, the issue was resolved positively. Soon Dilnoza will travel to Russia. They are going to continue to live together, - says Gulnara.
